Group meeting week one

Today was our first out-of-lecture meeting to discuss the product/service/campaign for our presentation. We had been in contact through the previous week with possible ideas and this was a chance to get feedback on them as a group.

The two ideas that were most prominent were promoting dental floss to countries adopting Western cultures (soft drinks, cigarettes etc), who also have little knowledge available on dental hygiene.

The second idea, which will probably be our presentation topic is that of a 'protest survival kit', this would work on a similar premise to the disaster-relief charity Shelterbox, but we will have to look further into this before our next meeting.

My tasks before our next meet-up are to do country profiles on the UK and France, as they are two countries which have seen protests in recent months. I will use Exploring Public Relations by Ralph Tench and Liz Yeomans for the headings for Country Profiling, and websites such as the CIA World Factbook (on cia.gov) to get country information.
